Black Travel Romances™ isn’t just a romance series—it’s a literary passport.
Created by Davita McKelvey, this audacious project spans 197 romance novels, one set in every UN-recognized country and a few more we recognize, simply because we can.
At its core? Black American women—unapologetically loved, seen, and centered in adventures around the world.
Yes, these books are full of steamy, swoon-worthy romance. Yes, they take you across oceans, cities, temples, and deserts. But this is about more than travel, passion, and desire. This is about showing us in full color, in full joy, in full freedom.
This is a love letter to Black women travelers.
These stories are for:
The “first stamp” girl finally taking that leap
The military sister deployed far from home
The single mom balancing it all and still daring to dream
The curvy traveler, the older woman, the expat, the volunteer, the vet and vet tech, and the Black girl who booked the flight before asking permission
Each book stands alone—but together, they build a world where Black women fall in love everywhere. Where we are the story.
Every novel in the series honors culture, emotional depth, and real places—no stereotypes, no shortcuts. Just layered, complex women moving through the world and finding romance, healing, and themselves along the way.
This is a shelf of proof that we are free to roam, explore, discover and love in every manner that completes us, simply because we can.
