About the Series

Black Travel Romances isn’t just a series—it’s a literary passport.

Created by world traveler and storyteller Davita McKelvey, this audacious project is set to span 197 romance novels, one set in every U.N recognized country on Earth (plus Taiwan and Palestine). At its core? Black women—unapologetically loved, seen, and centered as they expand and explore the world.

Yes, these books are full of steamy, swoon-worthy romance. Yes, they take you across oceans, cities, temples, and deserts. But this is about more than travel and desire. This is about showing Black woman in full color, full joy, and fully realized.

About The Author

Davita McKelvey is a global strategist, storyteller, and co-editor of #BlackTravel: The Anthology—the largest collection of African American travel narratives ever published.

With a background in international business, storytelling, and digital brand building, Davita has lived, worked, or traveled to and through over 100 countries, raising her daughter across continents and cultures. With every stamp, she’s gathered more than memories—she’s collected stories.

Black Travel Romances is her boldest project yet: a 197-book fiction series, one love story per country, each centered on a powerful, complex Black woman.

This isn’t just about romance. Through this work, Davita is reframing global Black womanhood—not as an exception, but as a norm. She’s writing stories lived, dreamed, and longed for—but rarely seen on the page.
